Gameplan

UX/UI and visual design for original project Gameplan, a mobile app for sports fans to find places where they can watch their favorite teams play when living or traveling in out-of-market areas.

User Research
Conducted user interviews and competitive analysis to capture data and inform research goals of finding out how sports fans plan to watch games, the type of environment they like to watch in, and what their priorities are when deciding where to watch.

Synthesized that research to identify trends and patterns and to create personas that reflected my target audience. Used that insight to ideate a design strategy based on the primary need of that audience: the ability to find places where they will be able to watch a desired game that requires minimal travel effort.

Information Architecture
Having defined the user goals, determined project requirements and generated a list of features that would create the minimum value to users which research indicated to be geolocation and search and filter functionality. Constructed a preliminary site map and user flow that would support these goals and features.

Design
Began sketching with a design direction based on my research and analysis. Created a low-fidelity prototype in Marvel and ran usability tests to help inform the design vision.

Continued to test and iterate based on feedback and observation. Improved functionality by adjusting the information architecture to comply with the user priority perceived during testing to have the ability to search both immediately for locations nearby and by date to plan ahead for future games.

Created high-fidelity wireframes in Sketch and constructed a clickable prototype using InVision demonstrating key interactions and components including the functionality for users to search what games are showing by map view or based on their current location and a calendar feature allowing them to search future games by sport and date.
